We are Clem and Ale. We created Arroseo because we did not want to see our first plants die.

In autumn 2025, having just moved in together, we adopted our first plants to decorate our home. We quickly realised that we knew nothing about them and that they might not survive for long. One fear in particular worried us: that each of us would water them separately, without checking with the other, and that they would end up drowned.
We tried several plant-tracking apps. None of them won us over: they were complicated to navigate, and none let us see what the other had watered recently. We were also looking for an app that teaches real things about plants: their natural habitat, the story of their discovery, their needs.
In November 2025, we started building our own: Ale on the code, Clem on the user experience, the design and the features. We both work in digital, Ale as a tech journalist and Clem as a digital project manager, so we moved forward in the evenings after work, at weekends and during our holidays. We could not stop.
We came up with Team mode from the very start. We wanted to know who had watered each plant, and when. We also wanted to share our plant files with the people close to us, so that they could take over during our holidays by following the instructions left in the app.
The apps we had tried were too complicated. We designed Arroseo so that a beginner knows, from the very first time they open it, which plant to water and when.
At home, the two of us look after the plants together. We created Team mode to know who watered and when, and to hand our plants over to someone close while we are on holiday.
We wanted to learn real things about our plants. Each plant file sets out their native habitat and their needs, and the Herbarium lets you scan the plants you come across every day and collect them.
We are the first to refuse to pay for an app before trying it. A beginner rarely has more than three plants: three free scans are enough to make up your mind, and ads let you go further without paying. We designed Arroseo+ for more experienced gardeners.
We adopt our first plants without knowing anything about them, and no app suits us.
We start coding the app and sketching its first screens.
We test the app thoroughly, then submit it to the App Store.
We release the first version on iPhone. The first reviews arrive soon after.
Based on our users' first feedback, we add a widget that shows the plants to water right on the phone's home screen.
We release Arroseo on Android. At the end of August, we pass the 100-user mark. It is not much, but for us it is huge: a hundred people who use the app and keep coming back to it.
Download the app for free and tell us what you are missing: that is how we make Arroseo better.
